second day

like a lion, like a bird of prey.

so today we finished up yesterdays song “like a lion…”. it’s awesome/subject to change. we also tackled another song (tentatively) called “we have seen a darkness”. DISCLAIMER: song titles change just like chords and lyrics and guitar parts change. don’t hold any of this to us. SO… we went back and forth and back again with different arrangements. i thought my head was going to explode at one point. when you hear the same (loud) music for 4 hours it wears on you. so we took a fiver and came back to it and we were delighted to find out that the fire was there waiting for us.  we found a wonderful ruckus in the song and it is exciting. if you are a musician you know what i’m talking about. i don’t get excited for just anything. jacki, stetson, … . it takes a lot. but the sound that was coming out of the monitors made me really shy. i might have blushed. i can’t even talk about it.

we are making the new John Mark McMillan record.

p.s. i really am going to try to update you guys on the album every day, along with my other semi regular blogs. so keep checking back during the day because i’ll upload different pictures and write a recap at night. i’ll try. i’ll try.

look pictures!

  1. Hey man, your one of the best around! Your sound live was rockin.. great stuff.. thanks for the tunes! whats one of your favorite pedals?

  2. Sounds like you had a good day in the studio. Glad the recording is off to a good start.

I love the updates but it’s almost a tease because I know it will be six months (or longer) before I hear any of it.
